THOUSANDS of people have marched through Australia's streets today for the
second annual Walk Against Warming, calling for greater action on climate change
and renewable energy targets.
In Sydney, organisers said crowd marshals counted more than 28,000 people in
the city's Domain and on a round-trip walk through the city.
Nature Conservation Council's Cate Faehrmann said early estimates suggested as many as 150,000 people had marched in similar protests across the country.
"It's clear that there is a lot of support out there. Much more needs to be done and that's what the community said today on climate change," she said.

God I hate Geico with a depth that knows no bounds. I just heard one of their radio commercials, "We think renters are cool." Do you really? Why? Why would you make such a stupid statement such as that, unless you had absolutely no imagination at all? You think renters are cool because you're trying to sell them insurance and you think in your stupid way that that is going to appeal to people who don't own a home. You might as well say, "because we think japanese people are cool, (therefore) they should buy insurance from us" These mental midgets don't even realize how patronizing it sounds. The statement "We think renters are cool" even makes renting, as opposed to owning property seem like a disability. "We think renters are cool", makes it sound like renting is like being an ex convict, or retarded. Thanks Geico. We think Geico is uncool, annoying, possibly criminally irritating and should never make another commercial for any media ever. If there was ever a reason not to buy insurance for anything, it would be Geico.
